"If you play to do some 'genius, then it becomes" Salvador Dali once said. An established and embodied in its motto the same figure: an artist in the truest sense of the word, a lover and supporter of every aesthetic form, capable of going beyond it, and represent a content without limits or rules imposed by the purely rational. And 'this is what makes teaching at the exhibition at the Vittoriano, "Salvador Dali. An artist, a genius. " Under the patronage of the President of the Italian Republic, after almost sixty years since the last retrospective, a show great returns in the capital dedicated to the famous Catalan master, and as stated by the same director of "Centre for Studies in the Fundació Gala-Dalí Salvador Dali ", let's underline the importance and rarity of this event, which is collaboration between Spain and Italy only in connection with projects of a certain relevance. The exhibition opened in the capital on March 8, which will run at the Vittoriano Complex until July 1, followed by two elements: first, tell not only the artist Dali, but Dali the man, genius, schizophrenia, that nourished the mind of an imagination out of control, ruthlessly realistic description of what is highly visionary, however, the other wants to tell the story "happy" between Salvador Dali and Italy. The artist was missing in Rome since 1954, the year of the exhibition at the Palazzo Pallavicini Rospigliosi, and here was finally able to see live the works of Renaissance masters, especially Raphael, with whom he tried to confront throughout their lives. So long Dali attended the City, and our country, metabolizzandone receiving suggestions and ideas for continuous innovation and creative design, also working on projects, costumes, set design, in cooperation, inter alia, by Luchino Visconti. Hence it is easy to infer the ancestry of Italian paintings of Dali, found even in the cartoon drawn by Walt Disney, where the ancient sculptures and atmosphere typical of Giorgio de Chirico and Gino Severini are the silent protagonist. Multifaceted genius, skilled communicator and raffiguratore, Dali has been able to mutate the human anguish and their personal foibles in a wonderful research, that "wonderful" that the same André Breton, the Surrealist theorist, considered the end of what may be worthy to be called "art". The exhibition, through a path of at least 103 works, including oils, watercolors and drawings, and more than 100 documents including videos, letters and objects, wants to weave the thread that is quirky and charming one of Dali's most famous and beloved artists of contemporaneity. But this contemporary, welcoming as Dali, the fruit of that same modernity that has us all sucked into the vortex of materialism? Salvador Dali was a success which proved to be a double edged sword: everyone likes but its interpretation is often misguided and reduced to simple styling to be appreciated as such. The interpretation is always a fusion of horizons, in which our reading has to intersect with what he produced the object, in this case, the work of art. Where does this dream-like paintings, made of slippage of meaning, free and automatic accociazioni great? Through the discoveries of Freud's early twentieth-century man was confronted with the truth about himself: almost all of the thoughts flowing below the level of consciousness. In front of this man, but especially the contemporary artist, sees confirmed the progressive depletion of Western values, crumbling under the eyes and seeing the identity of that history is constructed, is abandoned to a state of deep and "disturbing"estrangement. The crisis affecting the subject and his sense of confidence in the world, including the contradictions given by a mechanized society in which the objects produced by humans have been controlling man himself, he showed all the symptoms of inner discomfort faced with a historical and social values based on positivism and bourgeois, in resolving constructively '"expression", in the projection of internal needs as well to the outside, so the ego is suspended and gave the floor to a primordial reality, andabstract. How could the artist, impatient with this system, adopt the values? Needed to create a new system of ideas: Salvador Dali it was the supreme creator, producer of different languages and original, mystical, unknowable, trying to reveal to the world the essence, to which the ordinary man more often than not be accessed because it is situated behind the appearances.
