Fashion icon: Lady Gaga, una critica vivente all’impersonalità di massa.

Ipocrisia, omologazione, scarsa o falsa coscienza. Qual’è la cura? Lady Gaga, una critica vivente alla condizione di impersonalità che ormai domina la società di massa. Scrive Seneca il filosofo: “La dimestichezza con la folla è nociva: non c’è chi non riesca a contaminarci senza che ce ne accorgiamo.” Certamente la amatissima e criticatissima Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta risulta essere un antidoto perfetto ai giudizi della folla, che sembrano scivolarle addosso come nulla: ogni soggetto sembra convinto di esprimere a pieno la propria libertà comprando una casa in campagna o una bella automobile? Lady Gaga risponde che non importa quanto denaro possiedi o dove sei nato, tutti noi abbiamo la possibilità di costruire una vita ad opera d’arte; e qual è la strada migliore da scegliere se non iniziare ad essere un’opera d’arte vivente? Infatti, nonostante le mille polemiche che la vedono protagonista incessantemente, la star di “Born this way” sembra sia riuscita a far valere il proprio talento non solo nel mondo della musica, comparendo al primo posto nella classifica dei 100 artisti più influenti stilata dal TIME e vincendo otto statuette su tredici nomination tutte per il singolo Bad Romance (Record assoluto per un cantante) durante gli MTV Video Music Awards;  Lady Gaga detta legge anche nel fashion system: lei stessa ha dichiarato di aver sempre avuto una grande passione per la moda, creando addirittura  un vero e proprio team di produzione responsabile della creazione di molti dei suoi vestiti, accessori per il palcoscenico e pettinature. Questo progetto collettivo, denominato "Haus of Gaga", che ricorda un po’ il sincretismo all’avanguardia della “Bauhaus”, crea non solo capi d'abbigliamento, ma anche scenografie e nuovi tipi di suoni, all’insegna della sperimentazione artistica, a cui partecipano stilisti e produttori, dando vita ad un team creativo sul modello della Factory di Andy Warhol. Perciò Lady Gaga non può che essere considerata un’icona della moda. Il suo abbigliamento eccentrico e rivoluzionario è riuscito a convincere anche il Council of Fashion Designers of America, ovvero i guru dello stile negli USA, che l’hanno premiata come “style icon”, imponendosi come modello originale e innovativo. Sfoggiare energia e outfits ad effetto sono il pane quotidiano della regina dell’elettro-pop, che, uniti alla sua musica con influenze urban e blues, rendono le sue performances indimenticabili e di forte impatto. Vera Wang, icona nell’industria della moda, ha espresso il proprio favore nei confronti della cantante: Lady Gaga non si è lasciata trasportare dalle tendenze sfuggevoli del momento, ma ha creato una nuova e impetuosa corrente che solo lei riesce a comandare, non smettendo mai di stupirci. Ma se ci si ferma al look eccentrico, che ha solo l’obiettivo di catturare l’attenzione e allo stesso tempo scandalizzare non potremo capire se tutto ciò fa parte della sua personalità oppure sia solo una serie di imposizioni dettate dai produttori discografici: bisogna riconoscere che la camaleontica popstar  riesce sempre a far sì che ogni sua apparizione, in virtù delle sue scelte, faccia sempre notizia, accompagnata dagli immancabili e numerosi click su YouTube. E’ possibile che tutto ciò sia solo una maschera costruita abilmente per scalare le vette del successo, ma anche se fosse così cosa cambierebbe? Chi ha deciso che lo stile debba rappresentare per forza la nostra identità personale, e non invece aiutarci a costruirne una più prorompente, grintosa, pronta alla concorrenza e senza eguali? Sono due le caratteristiche a cui non dovremmo mai rinunciare in questo mondo che ai giorni d’oggi pare divorarci da un momento all’altro: genialità e messa in gioco di sé.
